`Listen,
There will always be people who want like you. For many reasons. But those are not the ones who you need to waste your emotion on. There will lso be people who will love you for being you and those are the ones you need to seek out. Your words brought me to tears. I know how it hurts not to be accepted Don't let it make you afraid or defensive. You know who you are in your heart. And that is exactly where you belong. Stand tall for all of those ancestors who have fought and died for who they were. If it were not for them you would not be here today. Keep thier beliefs strong and don't let them down. Most of all don't let yourself down.

Okay. I'm mixed too. I, on the other hand came out, to quote my half native grandmother looking just like her father's people (full blooded native). The only picture I ever got of him from her was an abusive drunk. People in my own family used to ridicule me for being a "pie face". Unlike you I have a lot of ambivilance about my Native blood.
I have met some full bloods who are good people and very accepting of me and my less than Native American rah! rah! spirit and I've met some who think even if you're a full blood that if you don't live on a reservation, stay hocked up on peyote and spend 20 hours a day in a sweat lodge you're STILL not a REAL Native.
As much as some people think they can decide who is a "real" Native or not, no one can take your Native blood away from you, no matter what they say or do. If this part of your heritage means so much to you then stand up and fight back, don't just ball up on the ground and let them kick you.
I hate to break it to you but no matter what you look like, what you do or say, how you act or how you dress, some one somewhere in this world won't like it or you. PERIOD. It's true for everyone and everything on this earth. Just do you and don't worry about the haters. As time goes on, you will find that those people who are truly meant to be in your life and who have your best at heart will still be around. Those others, do you REALLY want them in your life anyway?
And consider this, some full blood somewhere thought enough of someone non-native in your black-ground or you wouldn't be here.

You're only 32 years old right? Seems a bit young to me to have traveled the entire world and have met every single full blood tribe/person there is to meet. I know there is this whole declining numbers talk, but surely there aren’t so few as to have made your journey to connect with that part of your god given ancestry so short?
It makes me curious to know where exactly have you been and how many full bloods you have discoursed with to have reached such a wide spread, sweeping conclusion?
I for one know that there are alot of people - full blooded or not - who don't like me. (I just can't bring myself to care about the opinions of people who are not close to me and thereby don't really know me.) I ruffle a lot of feathers - eagle and non (to put it nicely (hehehe) - but even I don't find that "everyone" full blooded is so narrow-minded and has such low self-esteem that they can only try to regain a sense of consolation, a sense of personal pride by kicking people who are obviously much more sensitive than they.
That would be sad, disgusting and childish behavior and with them being fortunate enough to have someone like me share a part of their ancestry, I will prefer (for the time being) to believe that there are some natives out there truly worthy of the heritage that so many much more noble, learned and world-wise natives have fought so hard to preserve and protect. In short, worthy of the honor or me. (laugh)
I would also like to say that being a decently well-traveled person who has met and had associations with everyone from pillars of the community to criminals, from the very wealthy to the homeless, from the very young to the very old, from pagans to self appointed prophets, with people from every continent in the world, I still find that people sometimes surprise me. There is not one cross section of people that I can categorically throw in a box and say, there, these people are all exactly alike. Sure, I like to poke at people's insecurities sometimes but in all honesty, I have not found one stereotype or generalization which either fits everyone of one race/class/location or that CAN NOT be applied to some of the people in every race/class/location. That you are choosing to do so, hurt feelings aside, makes your view as narrow as theirs.

Sure it’s fun and human to be petty, mean and to lash out at times, but you have to consider what kind of relationship you want to have with that branch of your family tree and how you want that branch to perceive you (as you obviously seem to care a great deal about it). Once you figure that out, you need to apply some actual genuine effort. If you want them to be open-minded towards you, you have to be open-minded yourself. If you want them to be respectful towards you, you have to be respectful towards yourself. If you want them to have pride in you, try having a little pride in yourself first.
I’m sorry but the world owes you nothing. They owe you nothing. As unfair as it may seem to you, if you want this relationship you’re going to have to, in one way or another, earn or pay for it. Instead of wallowing in self-pity and trying to think of ways to drift off into the great wide world of nothingness, why don’t you try focusing your energy in more positive ways? Why don’t you join a local AIM chapter or an organization within your tribe that works for the betterment of your people? And not just join either, actually become actively involved, actually do something to improve the situation, to prove yourself to be better than they are.
Everyone can bullsh*t all they like, but the real person that they are will always come out in the end…eventually, especially in times when things aren’t so sunshiny. The true cream will rise to the top and the rest…oh, who cares about the rest.
You need to ask yourself, really, who are these people to tell you that you’re ugly. Not only do pretty faces not necessarily make for pretty people, (judging from some of these photos) not even marginally attractive faces necessarily make for pretty people. (laugh)
At the same time, AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, you have to ask yourself who YOU are that you would so readily accept such people and hold their words as gospel.
Let’s be real. These people have no real power over you unless you give it to them. Why are you so willing to give it to them? Until you can figure out the answers to these questions I have posed to you, you’re never going to be strong enough to do what you need to do to get what you want.

The way I see it, you have a lot of soul-searching to do young whipper snapper. You need to find out who you are as a man and to figure out if that’s who you really want to be when it’s all said and done in the end. You need to make some kind of peace within yourself before you can ever hope to find peace with the world around you.
I wish you the best of luck and hope that you don’t chose to give up without one hell of a fight.

P.S. Don’t sweat the spelling and grammar. You're in a delicate state right now. So long as you can get across that which you wish to get across it will do....for now. (grin)

You can always type what you want to say in a word processing program such as Word, WordPerfect or Open Office (free to download online imitation Office package). Open Office is; however, in my opinion inferior to Word (inspite of the ghastly 2007/2010 ribbon fiasco – Thank GOD for the hackers who created the Menu patch utility!)
After you've finished typing and have spell/grammar checked your prose, simply highlight all of the text you require by either placing your mouse pointer at the end or beginning of the text and clicking your left mouse button to place your cursor there. While holding down the left mouse button, drag your mouse until you've selected it all. Easier still, if you just want everything on the page, you can just hold down the Ctrl key and press the letter A once.
Next, while holding down Ctrl, press the letter C once (to copy) or you can click the icon of the two sheets of dog eared paper.
That being done, jump over to the Post a Reply or New Comment dialogue boxes. Click once in the text box with your left mouse button to place your cursor where you want the text to appear. While holding down Ctrl, press the letter V once. This will paste your text.
You can also use this same methods to copy and paste from the Post a Reply or New Comment dialogue boxes.
Enjoy!

`
The attitude of snob towards those who are not pure blood.
At its heart is emptiness of identity.
The empty ones who have the blood,
and feel so cheated because the magic of being human is gone.
Such a painful reminder of their loss,
when the tainted empty ones hope some blood wisdom might rub off.
How can they be generous, when they feel most keenly they have been robbed ?
For them, the loss is most intense, because they are most accountable.
The old ways are gone.
Not by negligence of the people,
but because they were destroyed relentlessly.
If there is to be blame, look to the destroyers,
who worship a god of tyranny.
A god which commands the death of freedom and magic.
How stupid must those worshippers be
to swallow Jehovah's stinking camel -
that conformity is the will of the creator ?
Those who impose endless cruelties and restriction
on the noble people whose tradition was diversity and freedom.
None are poorer than those who grovel to a false god.
The full blood in their spiritual pain has my sympathy.
They owe you nothing.
Perhaps instead of a cultural beggar,
the seeker of culture may dare to demand from Great Mystery
a renaissance of human wisdom.
Regardless of the dangers.

`Marcus, I can tell you that I am embarrassed by the attitude given to you by those that have treated you so badly. I have mixed blood nephews and nieces in my family I love them no less for it and actually have a scottish ancestor many years back. What matters most is character and the love in your heart to have pity and pray for ones that don't understand you. A good woman will cross you path when it's time and she will love you for you little brother. You are a good looking young man and don't sweat the typos..Take care ~K
